you browsing Web sites. Sometimes though you need to allow a
necessary pop up. These needed pop ups may include instructions,
graphics, forms and more. Sometimes you may even be thinking that
when you click on a link and nothing happens, that there is
something wrong with the Web site, when in fact, your pop up blocker
is stopping a necessary pop up. You can easily bypass your pop up

Since there are so many different programs that you can get to stop
pop ups, learning how to bypass the program can be difficult. You
can get pop up blocking software from your ISP, browser, anti-virus
software, browser tool bars, or separate programs designed
specifically to stop pop ups. You may even have more than one
program doing the job without realizing it.
Quick Tip To Allow Pop Ups One Time
Most pop up blocker programs allow you to hold down the ctrl key on
your keyboard while clicking a link, to allow a pop up one time.
This comes in very handy when you want to allow a pop up at that
site one time only.
Allowing Pop Ups For Specific Programs
- Internet Explorer
If you have a new version of Internet Explorer, it comes with a
pop up blocker. To change your settings select "tools" from the
menu at the top, then "Pop Up Blocker", then "Pop Up Blocker
Settings". There you can add Web sites to always allow pop ups
or change the intensity of the pop up blocker.
- FireFox Browser
Select "Tools" from the menu at the top then "Options". Select
the "Content" icon at the top of the window. Here you can turn
off the pop up blocker or add allowed sites.
- Google Toolbar
When a pop up is blocked you will get a notification line
towards the top of the window. Click it for options to allow the
pop up one time or always allow them at that site.
- Your ISP
Some Internet Service Providers such as AOL have pop up blocking
ability built in. You will need to check the support/help files
to determine how to bypass the pop up blocker.

If you are using a program that includes pop up blocking you
will need to check the program documentation to find out how to
adjust the settings. Just open the program and look for pop up
blocking. If necessary, go to the help file and search for pop
up blocking.
